referral hospitals/specialists
Sometimes during our physical exam, abnormalities may be found with your pet's health. Our doctors will discuss these changes with you and come up with the best course of action. Occasionally, this involves referral to a specialist or referral center, for advanced diagnostics testing and/or treatment and care. We work closely with the specialty and referral hospitals listed below, in order to provide the best care possible for your pets.
cardiology
When an abnormality is found with your pet's heart such as a murmur or arrhythmia- we often recommend a full work-up with a Board Certified Cardiologist. We refer our cardiac patients to Chesapeake Veterinary Cardiology Associates (CVCA). They have multiple locations throughout the Maryland/Virginia area. Please contact them for more information.

These specialists are able to provide advanced imaging and surgeries such as Orthopedic surgery, advanced Soft Tissue surgery, Neurosurgery, and more. We often refer to MedVet (Previously the Veterinary Referral Center of Northern Virginia), Skylos Sports Medicine, or Veterinary Surgical Center. Please contact them for hours and locations.
